October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, so it seems fitting to introduce proposed new policy UAP 3445 ("Domestic Abuse Leave") for a 30-day campus review and comment period (October 13th - November 13th). This policy fulfills the requirements of the "Promoting Financial Independence for Victims of Domestic Abuse Act" passed by the New Mexico Legislature, which went into effect on July 1, 2009.
