President Stokes Approves Revisions to Three University Administrative Policies and Procedures

On August 20th, President Stokes approved revisions to three policies in the University Administrative Policies and Procedures Manual.

UAP 2615 (“Non-Standard Payment Processing”)

  • Allows for a mechanism to process payments related to a new hiring incentive program, in an effort to improve our ability to recruit top quality staff.

 UAP 3410 (“Sick Leave”)

  • Adds mental and emotional wellbeing leave to our sick leave benefit.
  • Allows the use of sick leave to extend bereavement leave.
  • Clarifies the definition of “immediate family member”.
  • Streamlines the record keeping requirement for supervisors.

 UAP 3415 (“Leave with Pay”)

  • Increases the number of days of paid bereavement leave from three to five.
  • Expands bereavement leave eligibility to include cousins and loss of pregnancy.
  • Clarifies eligibility for use of paid parental leave.
  • Clarifies and simplifies the definitions for eligibility for use of bereavement leave.
  • Allows for intermittent use of bereavement leave.
  • Establishes a process to request exceptions.
  • Streamlines the record keeping requirement for supervisors.
