Review and Comment on Proposed Policy Changes

The campus community is encouraged to review and comment on proposed changes to two polices: UAP 4000 ("Allowable and Unallowable Expenditures") and UAP 4030 ("Travel").  Click on the "Under Review" tab of this website to access the policy drafts and to submit comments online.  The policy drafts are available for a 30-day review period.

The changes to UAP 4000 address concerns that were raised about a previous draft revision of the policy during the policy review cycle last spring.  The current proposed revisions include:

  • an explanation of how Foundation funds can be used to reimburse and pay for certain expenditures related to development activities and other events that would be unallowable with University funds
  • a clarification of when University funds may be used to purchase refreshments for student events and meetings, and staff and faculty events and meetings 

The proposed revisions to UAP 4030 authorize business class air travel under certain limited circumstances.
