Minor Policy Revisions Approved by President Frank

On March 11, 2014, President Frank approved minor revisions requested by Human Resources to UAP 3210 ("Recruitment and Hiring") and UAP 3790 ("Domestic Partners"). 

In UAP 3210 ("Recruitment and Hiring"), the revision in Section 10 under "Exceptions" authorizes the President, an Executive Vice President, or the Vice President for Human Resources to authorize an exception to the policy.  Currently, the Vice President for Human Resources is the only person who can authorize such exceptions.

In UAP 3790 ("Domestic Partners"), the revisions were made to reflect a recent New Mexico Supreme Court ruling on same-sex marriages.  Under the revisions, legally married same-sex couples would no longer be subject to the Domestic Partners Policy.  Instead, they would have the same rights and benefits as legally married opposite-sex couples.

In that these were minor changes, the revised policies were issued outside of the normal policy review process.
