On October 1, 2014, President Frank approved minor revisions to UAP 3210 ("Recruitment and Hiring") and UAP 3500 ("Wage and Salary Administration").
Under the revised language in UAP 3210 ("Recruitment and Hiring"), UNM will withhold employment applications from public disclosure until after the end date for a search, except when there is an Inspection of Public Records Act request for an application prior to the end date. In that the purpose of the minor changes was to make UAP 3210 consistent with current case law, the policy was revised on an expedited basis outside of the normal policy review process.
The Human Resources Division requested the changes to UAP 3500 ("Wage and Salary Administration") in order for the policy to reflect current practices regarding "call back pay" for non-union employees. A new Section 7 ("Call Back Pay") has been added to the policy. Certain units pay non-exempt employees call back pay when the employees are called back to work after the end of their shifts. Call back pay for union employees is governed by their collective bargaining agreements. The changes to UAP 3500 authorize call back pay for non-union employees. In that the purpose of the proposed changes was to make UAP 3500 consistent with current practices, the policy was revised on an expedited basis outside of the normal policy review process.
