The Board of Regents approved one new policy and revisions to two existing policies today.  The new policy is Regents' Policy 2.18 ("Guiding Principles"), which was developed by a task force co-chaired by Dr. Melissa Bokovoy, Chair of the History Department, and Dr. Linda Ferrell, the Bill Daniels Professor of Business Ethics at the Anderson School of Management.   The two revised policies are as follows:

• Regents' Policy 1.2 ("Structure of the Board of Regents"), which was revised (1) to authorize the Board President to appoint him or herself as a member of a standing committee or the HSC Board of Directors; (2) to authorize the Board President to designate alternate members of a standing committee or board; and (3) to clarify when standing committees may meet in closed session.

• Regents' Policy 7.14 ("Risk Management and Insurance") was reorganized and amended to include information on the reserve fund for the self-insurance plan, including the three components of the reserve fund and the use of the general reserve component.
