To comply with a new rule of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, the University must publish a set statement on pay transparency in its policy manual, among other requirements. An outgrowth of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, the rule is intended to promote pay transparency by protecting employees who share compensation information and concerns. The required statement has been inserted in Section 11 of University Administrative Policy 3500 (“Wage and Salary Administration”).
In that these proposed changes are minor and required by federal regulation, they were approved outside of the normal policy review process. For more information on this new rule, please click here.
