December 14, 2016
On December 12, 2016, revisions to 15 existing policies and one new policy were approved by the University President's Office. The policies, which were posted for a 30-day, all-campus review and comment period, are issued now on the Policy Office website.
The policy drafts were revised, as appropriate, based on the comments received during the review period. In particular, substantial changes were made to Section 10 of University Administrative Policy (UAP) 3300 ("Paid Time"); an explanation of how travel time should be compensated for nonexempt employees was replaced by a more-detailed and, we hope, easier-to-understand table on this topic.
The one new policy, UAP 5300 ("Universal Restroom Initiative"), establishes guidelines for the design of single-stall universal restroom facilities, which can accommodate users regardless of gender identity, disability, or family status.
For information on the revisions to the 15 existing policies, please click here. Below are links to the revised versions of the remaining 14 policies (that is, other than UAP 3300 and UAP 5300):
In addition, on December 12, 2016, the President's Office approved revisions to UAP 2680 ("Payroll Overpayments and Collection"). After the start of the 30-day review period, Financial Services submitted these revisions, which clarify the roles of the parties in addressing overpayments. The revisions were shared with Staff Council, which raised no concerns.
