Two Additional Policies Posted for 30-Day, All-Campus Review

Revisions to two existing University Administrative Policies (UAP) have been posted for a 30-day, all-campus review and comment period from April 29 through May 29, 2019. These drafts are also being provided simultaneously to representatives of campus constituent groups for review and comment.

UAP 3410 (“Sick Leave”)

  • Revisions expand the definition of immediate family member for authorized use of sick leave, in accordance with New Mexico Senate Bill 123 Public and Private Caregiver Leave Act, and add a reference to the new Paid Parental Leave for staff described in UAP 3415 (“Leave With Pay”).

UAP 3415 (“Leave With Pay”)

  • UNM recognizes that supporting employees as they balance career, childbirth, and family life ultimately benefits the university and promotes overall health. Revisions add new Section 3.8 “Paid Parental Leave”, which provides eligible staff employees up to 160 hours of paid parental leave following the birth or adoption of a child, effective July 1, 2019. In addition, new Section 6 adds references to other related administrative policies.
